Aqaba, July 14 (Petra) - Ameen Al-Maaytah - The Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO) announced the establishment of the ALECSO Chair for Red Sea Studies at the University of Aqaba for Technology. This chair focuses on conducting studies and research related to the heritage, history, and environment of the Red Sea, supporting Arab local communities along its coasts in achieving green and blue economies.
This announcement came during the high-level workshop titled "The Red Sea: Science, Education, and Environment towards Sustainable Investment," held in Tunisia and organized by ALECSO, with the participation of presidents, CEOs, academics, and researchers from Arab and international institutions specializing in Red Sea affairs across scientific, academic, and investment domains aiming to achieve green economy objectives in the Red Sea region for the welfare of Arab communities along its coasts.
In continuation to the implementation of the phases of the Sahara Forest project in Jordan, procedures for signing a memorandum of understanding between Aqaba University of Technology, Al Hussein Technical University and the Sahara Forest project have been completed with the aim of implementing training programs to improve the skills of its participants in various fields, the most important of which are food security and agricultural technology, in addition to building Capacity in line with Jordan's priorities in water, energy, and climate change.
